Over half of men go online to research Valentine''s Day gifts
When it comes to buying gifts for Valentine´s Day, men are more likely to use the internet to help them than women.
Internet Retailer reported that a recent study from DoubleClick Performics, the online marketing firm, discovered that 47 per cent of people said that they intended to research gifts on the internet.
In terms of gender however, only 39 per cent of women said that they would use the internet to help them with their Valentine´s gift purchases, whereas more than half of men (57 per cent) indicated that they would go online.
Stuart Larkins, vice president of search for DoubleClick, said: "Retailers should understand the potential link between online research and in-store purchases, even for a simple item like Valentine´s day candy.
"No matter where consumers intend to make their purchases, online is proving to be a springboard and a key influencer for much of their purchase activities."
