US consumers go online for television shows

The number of US consumers watching television shows on the internet is increasing.


According to a recent study conducted by Solutions Research Group, as many as 80 million Americans have gone online to watch a television show.

This represents 43 per cent of the online population.

The figure indicates a significant increase on the statistics from one year ago, when 25 per cent of internet users had watched television on the internet.

It was also discovered that watching television on the web was a weekly activity for one in five US consumers.

Popular shows included Heroes, Ugly Betty, Dancing with the Stars and Smallville.

The major network site to receive the highest user experience score was abc.com, with the overall experience being rated as ´excellent´ by 52 per cent of those surveyed.
