Young internet users becoming less of a concern
Internet use amongst young people is starting to become more accepted by people in the US.
That is according to a new nationwide survey conducted by Zogby International on behalf of the Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee (CICAC), which revealed that Americans are now more comfortable with youngsters using the internet.
When compared with an identical survey conducted in 2007, it was discovered that there was a year-on-year decrease of 7.6 per cent in the number of people who felt that only adults should have access to social-networking sites and chat rooms.
In addition, only 2.8 per cent of those surveyed expressed discomfort at the idea of young people having access to email.
Tim Lordan, executive director of CICAC, commented: "The survey results suggest that Americans are increasingly accepting greater use of new online technologies by our young people.
"Yet the survey shows that it may take some time for many Americans to become comfortable with how kids are social networking and chatting."
