Lady Gaga is attempting to capitalise on her growing brand appeal by launching her own social networking site, called Little Monsters.
Following a beta trial, users will be able to sign up to the new site using Twitter or Facebook, sharing content on a platform similar to that of Pinterest, one of the newer additions to the social media segment.
The online community has been created by software start-up Backplane and will feature an integrated events calendar with opportunities to purchase tickets for Gaga concerts.
Speaking to Mashable, the company's chief executive Matt Michelsen explained: "We wanted to create an experience where language barriers were no longer barriers and where Gaga can communicate with fans in different countries and languages."
The pop diva has been keen to expand beyond music recently, having unveiled her new fragrance, Lady Gaga Fame earlier this week, while she continues to work on her new album.
