Mobile website design 'demands a different approach to normal sites'

Designing a website for mobile needs to be different to designing for a desktop user, according to a marketing consultant.
Growing numbers of businesses are expected to adapt their websites to mobile, according to freelance marketing consultant at luanwise.co.uk Luan Wise, as the mobile customer base expands.
"I will be expecting to see more people considering mobile and adapting their websites to mobile, because if your experience of viewing a website on a mobile isn't good, it reflects on the whole brand as a business," said Ms Wise.
She believes mobile websites need to be a lot simpler than a normal website, as well as being clearer because of the restrictions of a smaller screen.
Loading times using 3G rather than WiFi or an Ethernet connection also need to be considered. Overcomplicated websites may not load on users' devices, which will damage traffic rates and brand exposure.
