Will Facebook's 'save for later' feature prove useful?

Facebook has launched a new feature, enabling mobile users to save their friends' posts or other messages so they can be read later.
Closely resembling 'favourite' features used by websites and email applications, reports on iMore indicate that the new functionality is not yet available for desktop computer users.
When the new option is rolled out across the mobile platform, users can expect to see a message that enables them to "press and hold anywhere on a story to save it for later".
The new function is set to be extended to a desktop version of Facebook, but is currently only available on the mobile website and iOS apps.
Since its stock market flotation, there have been concerned that Facebook has not yet provided an adequate response to questions about how it is adapting to meet the changing demands of its mobile audience.
Some analysts are concerned that the social networking giant has failed to satisfactorily align its online marketing strategy with emerging user behaviour on mobile devices.
