SEO is important in email marketing

When email marketing is sent to consumers it is usually expected they will read the message when they get it, or delete it.
But some marketing material is stored in people´s inboxes and referred to at a later date.
And according to Email Insider, it is therefore important for companies to make their emails easily findable when they are searched for using an inbox search function.
The news provider claims that companies should use search engine optimisation (SEO) techniques to ensure that messages are found quickly and easily when they are being looked for.
"A keyword-laden message can start to sound very scary - until you realise the approach here is very different than the keyword density usually reserved for websites," the website claimed.
It added that while SEO for websites means putting relevant keywords in articles more than once, email inboxes display messages in date order, so keywords only have to be put in once to ensure they are found.
According to recent research by MailerMailer, less people are reading email marketing material than they were in the past.
