New trends set to transform email marketing
2009/10/06
Emerging trends in the email marketing world are set to change the way many firms approach the format, according to an expert.
Chad White of MediaPost´s Email Insider blog has claimed that new programs are giving email users and service providers more control over what reaches inboxes, meaning companies need to be wise to ensure their messages are still successful.
Writing in a column for the website, he explained that this means messages need to be more transparent, dynamic content should be used and triggered campaigns could be more important.
Discussing the latter, he said: "Transactional emails, browse-based emails, shopping cart abandonment emails, birthday emails and the like - all will increase in importance going forward because of the higher level of engagement that subscribers have with these emails."
Recent figures from Econsultancy suggested that the email marketing sector is expected to grow by 15 per cent this year to a value of £292 million.
