Digital media agencies vie for £30 million easyJet account

2009/11/06
Airline easyJet has called a review of its £30 million pan-European digital media planning and buying account.
The account covers European markets including France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.

OMD International presently handles the account, but the low-cost airline is pitching it after six years of working with the Omnicom Group agency.

Katie Stitson, marketing manager for easyJet, confirmed it was looking for a new digital media agency. "The pitch includes digital, which OMD currently handles," she told New Media Age.

Speaking to Media Week, a spokesperson added: "The contract has come to an end - it´s good practice to see what else is in the market."

EasyJet´s above-the-line business is handled by Publicis, which won the account in 2007, and is unaffected by the review.

In September, former AOL Europe chief executive officer Dana Dunne joined easyJet as its chief commercial officer.
