LinkedIn's UK membership reaches 3m

Membership of business social networking site LinkedIn has passed three million in the UK as redundancies drive people to the site.
The global membership of the site, which focuses on linking people up because of their business connections, crossed 50 million earlier this year.
Writing on an official LinkedIn blog, the social networking site´s European managing director, Kevin Eyres, didn´t attribute the growth of the site in the UK to the recession or the website itself.
He wrote: "It´s not down to the range of features we offer, the speed at which we innovate, or the number of languages the site is available in."
Instead he attributed the growth of the site to the members who "rich mix of expertise, experience, wisdom and the positive, collaborative attitude".
A new member joins LinkedIn approximately every second, according to the website.
