iPad to become next online direct marketing target?

2010/01/28
The new Apple iPad could prove to be an effective target for online direct marketing, it has been suggested.
Launched yesterday, the tablet computer, which bridges the gap between smart phones and laptops, is set to offer consumers "a better email experience", one expert has claimed.

Writing for PC World, IT expert Michael J Miller said it will be possible to read emails on multi-pane view, adding that this is as effective as on a laptop but has the advantage of greater mobility.

Although emails will be easier to write when the user has access to a full keyboard, the iPad will be great for readers, he noted.

The device could be "particularly important" for handling mail, Mr Miller added, noting that the iWork application should allow users to consume and lightly edit any attachments.

Earlier this week, writing for Email Insider, Darrah MacLean of Smith-Harmon urged businesses to ensure that website landing pages are relevant when carrying out online direct marketing tactics such as email marketing.
