Google Social Search to offer search marketing 'benefits'
2010/02/01
Google Social Search could provide many benefits for businesses carrying out search marketing activities, it has been claimed.
Last week, the tool graduated from Google Labs to the company´s search engines.
Users with a Google profile will now receive results from their contacts on social media networks such as Facebook and blogs alongside standard search results, when looking for items online.
Tim Gibbon, the co-founder and editor of the Social Media Portal, explained that the move will be of interest to search marketers and search engine optimisation specialists in particular.
"Brands and agencies alike have been fixated with maximising the use of content to improve search ranking and more recently through Google´s Universal Search where images and video are displayed within search results," he added.
Google offers users with privacy concerns advice on how they can control the appearance of their information online, he noted.
