'More people' experiencing Google's new search page

2010/03/01
More people are seeing a new search page when using Google, it has been reported. According to Search Engine Land, the new-look page features a three-column design, which Google has been testing since last year.
The new design also includes a person´s location in the right-hand column, while the left side provides options for searching under titles such as everything, news, images, videos and blogs.
It also enables people to decide whether they want recent content, such as pages which have been updated in the last 24 hours – which could have effects on online direct marketing campaigns.
"Virtually all the features within it are already available now through the two-column or two-pane view. You just have to open the third column manually," the news provider noted.
Last month, Sam Tilston, marketing director of Memorybits.co.uk, said Google universal search offers a number of benefits for companies which are carrying out search marketing campaigns.
