Google planning new ad campaign
2010/03/11
Following the news that advertisements will run on TV for Microsoft´s Bing, Google has also announced that it is looking to advertise its search facilities.
According to reports, the internet giant has approached a number of UK agencies to handle an advertising campaign, which will look to promote its search engine.
It is still unclear where the advertisements will appear or if they will focus on a World Cup theme.
A spokesperson for Google told Marketing Week: "We´ve begun approaching agencies to handle a new ad campaign to promote our search facilities which will centre on different themes and events."
Bing´s new TV ads went live yesterday (March 10th), with the tagline Bing and Decide.
Ashley Highfield, managing director and vice-president of consumer and online at Microsoft UK, said: "The ad campaign brings to life the concept of Bing as a decision engine, a tool that both cuts through the information overload and offers a new search experience."
