Online marketing needs to be multi-channel

Marketers must make sure they don´t use just one channel when it comes to online marketing, it has been claimed.
According to the Tribune Business Weekly, firms need to keep on top of the latest developments in online marketing - such as the use of social media and viral video marketing.
Speaking to the news provider, marketing expert Troy Rumfelt said: "The day when just having a Web site was good enough is no longer.
"You need a blog, a YouTube page, a Facebook page, a Twitter feed going out there and all funnelling back to your Web site."
The news provider added that email marketing can look dated unless it is well designed and successfully targeted at potential customers who will find it interesting.
Last week, the Advertising Association announced that new rules on the use of social networking sites for the purposes of advertising would be introduced to protect young users of the sites.
