SEO and social media more effective together

Search engine optimisation (SEO) and social media can drive more traffic when used together, an expert has said.
Eric Popczun, vice president of SEO at Performics, told Internetretailer.com that while companies recognised the importance of both components, many were failing to make them work in harmony.
He said retailers should seek to integrate the two initiatives in a bid to achieve better results with their campaigns.
"For most retailers, this means building an SEO foundation centred on their own sites and their branded social media pages, and incorporating earned and paid media strategically," Mr Papczun told the website.
With experience in SEO and retail, Mr Papczun said he was well-placed to identify where improvements could be made in both search and social media marketing.
Frank Reed, owner of FT Internet Marketing, said recently that search was one of the most reliable forms of marketing when it came to gaining a return on investment.
