Online video advertising growth on 'upward curve'

Online video advertising is continuing to grow as the marketing industry in general goes from strength to strength.
The latest figures from eMarketer show unprecedented growth in the industry, with online advertising spending growing to £36.2 billion in 2009.
And Jamie Estrin, managing director of Web TV Enterprise, said he expected the promising developments to continue in the video marketing domain as advertisers can use it to effectively target audiences.
"In online video we are seeing continued growth and each quarter the line is going in an upward curve," he commented.
"The web has so many niche content areas, the targeting opportunities are greater than there are in other mediums, especially TV."
He said that metrics and analytic software would continue to be pivotal in ascertaining where to position "brands that the right audience are happy to be engaging with."
Experts have recently suggested that videos can play an important role in search marketing campaigns.
