Andrew started his media career as a marketing manager for a UK regional newspaper group. He then left to join the launch team for the forerunner of GWR (recently GCAP) Radio. Another two years in publishing exposed him to the merits of accountable media and, after two years working at Mediaforce, he set up his own media company - The Direct Media Company. He sold this to Tri-Direct and joined the board to establish the fledgling data agency’s direct response media solution.
It was his experience of working with clients in the late 90’s, as they sought to establish online as a media and sales channel, that led him to conclude that there was a gap in the market. There was a clear opportunity for an agency focusing on insight through data analysis to generate excellent ROI on digital and direct response campaigns. As a result Andrew established Equi=Media, with Louise Burgess, to provide direct response solutions across online and offline media channels.
In addition to being responsible for establishing Equi=Media’s early and retained clients, Andrew has previously worked on direct and digital accounts such as Bose, Charles Tyrwhitt, Alliance & Leicester, and Norwich Union.
