Equi=Media has been nominated for a 2008 NMA Effectiveness award in the online banking and personal finance category for its work creating the first MSN finance-orientated microsite for FIRSTPLUS Financial. Equi=Media built the site under the theme ‘Take control’ encouraging UK consumers to manage their finances, work/life balance and home.
The microsite acts as a portal, carrying informative and entertaining content covering the three ‘Take control’ topics, and encouraging consumers to engage with the FIRSTPLUS brand. Users can test their financial and home improvement skills, read articles on how to make their money work harder, and read a work/life balance case study.
The site aims to drive awareness of FIRSTPLUS as a provider of homeowner loans and help launch its new, lower, typical 6.9% APR rate. It will be sent to MSN Hotmail and Messenger customers who are over the age of 25.
To encourage responsible borrowing the site includes helpful links to organisations such as the National Debt Advice line, as well as a checklist of things to look out for when considering a homeowner loan.
Rebecca Ward, head of digital media at Equi=Media, says: "We are very excited to have created the FIRSTPLUS site for MSN Specials as it delivers financial and lifestyle information in an engaging way. As this is the first finance-orientated Specials microsite, FIRSTPLUS is able to specifically target an older, web enabled audience and offer advice and entertainment as a way of establishing a relationship with potential customers."
