It's not just the men at Equi=Media who like to keep fit, the girls are getting in on the action too with the added incentive of raising money for Race for Life.
Nicola (Finance Executive) and Natalie (SEO Manager) are both regular runners and take part in Race for Life each year.
Nicola mentioned "This will actually be the 9th consecutive year that I have taken part in the Swindon event (on 10th June) and the atmosphere from everyone there on the day always makes it a very special day and it is something that I am proud to be a part of each year.
People who take part in Race for Life all do so for many different reasons, some for surviving cancer, others who are actually in remission or just to offer their support in an amazing cause and there are those, like myself, who take part in memory of family members who have lost their battle with cancer."
Natalie commented "This will be the third year I have taken part, I usually run with my two younger sisters in my hometown event in Newbury (8th July) for the memory of our Grandmothers. It is usually a very emotionally charged yet fun event, a real mixture of feelings as you remember your loved ones amidst the excitement and buzz of the event itself and the pride and elation of crossing the finish line knowing you have contributed to such a worthy cause.
Race for Life is Cancer Research UK's flagship event, with over 240 events taking place across the UK every year, it's the UK's largest women-only fundraising event and it has made such a huge impact on Cancer Research UK's work. Please read about the fantastic progress they've made since Race for Life began and why your support is vital.
The success of Race for Life is down to so many people, from the thousands of volunteers who support the event on the day and donate their time and energy to help make it happen, to the corporate partners and local businesses that also offer their support in the event each year.
Every two minutes someone in the UK is told they have cancer, since Race for Life started in 1994 an incredible £457million has been raised by all the participants, this is more than any other UK event series raising money to fund cancer research!
