Account Director

Reporting to the Client Services Director

The Account Director is a principal senior client contact for the agency and is instrumental in the planning and direction of overall client digital strategy, and mid to long term digital multi-channel campaign strategy. Responsible for leading analysis and planning, monitoring results, ensuring all administrative processes are adhered to, thorough records are maintained, positive relationships are maintained with all depts., the clients’ other agencies and the client, at all times.

Responsible for building strong relationships with senior client teams and making equimedia a key part of the client marketing department, spotting opportunities in existing clients to increase the clients business online and develop our involvement with each client; both in terms of new channels and developing existing ones by working closely with the whole client team.

You can make the complex, simple, and sell in new ideas effectively and understand our role in the overall client marketing mix and the inter-relationships between all digital and offline channels. You work hard to stay up to date with digital development and lead evaluation of new innovations and their suitability for your clients. Account planning is a large part of your role.

Winning new business from existing clients and new prospects is a core responsibility. You are able to work alongside the new business and planning depts. to identify, plan, deliver and lead incisive and value-added business development projects, and to coordinate new business pitches having identified and qualified the opportunity. You are capable of enthusing and galvanising the wider agency team.

You will have a comprehensive understanding of what we do as an agency and how we fit amongst our own competitor sets, our USP’s, what represents a good client fit and how our departments work at their most efficient. You always seek to lead and work with colleagues in a way that gets the best outcome for equimedia, our team and our clients.

Fully responsible for teams of account managers and execs and working very closely with the client services director and business directors, you ensure account management work efficiently and effectively with all other agency teams. You work with senior account managers and CSD to plan individual staff skill development and training, and the longer term development of the dept.

This is a big picture role in terms of working within the agency and with clients – you are client and whole business focused at all times. In order to fulfil all your responsibilities you will proactively lead and contribute to innovation, marketing and development teams across the agency such as the Innovations Team, Agency Content and Social Media Team, and the Business Development Team.
